The new Hager golf electrical distribution board. With its design and product advantages it convinced the members of the jury, all top-notch specialists of international renown. If you consider that, this year alone, 4,252 entries were submitted for the prestigious red dot award, then you get an idea of just how innovative this Hager product must be.

Rather like in the car-manufacturing sector, the new golf is designed to a platform strategy. In other words, for the deployment planned in more than 70 countries, it is fitted to meet local market requirements. And as such it offers users everywhere an impressive array of advantages such as standard integrated solutions for optional wiring and a patented quick-fit installation. Form and function merge into one highly innovative unit – a good indication of the way the golf symbolises the new Hager brand. Moreover, the outcome was designed and tested in consultation with users worldwide. The wishes of over 1,000 customers from ten countries were taken into account during development. Another 200 customers from six countries were involved in the assessment of the aesthetics. Thus they all contributed to the creation of a new milestone in the electrical installations sector. At this point, then, we would like to register our gratitude to Erwin van Handenhoven who developed the design. The award is yet further confirmation of the long and fruitful cooperation we share with him.

We are proud of this distinction. After all, the red dot is one of the most renowned design prizes in the world – with design playing more than a surface role in the eyes of the jury members. Assessment criteria include the interaction of form and function as well as the way in which conceptual specifications are creatively implemented. Real substance is called for and the final decision is more than a matter of taste. Ultimately, it is a sustainable approach that sits well with the brand philosophy of Hager as the partner for intelligent and reliable solutions in the world of electro-installation.
